When Meg and Devin reached out to me about their Oakland redwoods wedding, I was so excited to make the trip down to California for their intimate wedding! I did not expect how beautiful this little patch of redwoods just outside the city would be – it was the perfect way to get that outdoorsy vibe without straying too far from civilization! The Oakland California Redwoods (technically Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park) are such a pretty escape from the bustle of the city.
We started the day getting ready at The Graduate Oakland in the city, and then wandered to a part of the Madrone Trail in Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park. The couple had the most beautiful warm orange and pink tones as part of the color palette; it really popped against the forest colors!
Then, their Oakland Redwoods wedding began. Portraits under the forest canopy and a cocktail hour at picnic benches – the dream!
While I’m here, I do want to note that these photos are edited in my older editing style. Currently, do edit a little bit more true-to-life. So if we did this same thing with you, your photos would be similar – but a little less saturated and contrasted! My website pages and instagram are the BEST way to see my most up-to-date editing style. Head to my homepage here.
Anyway – all in all I really loved traveling down to Oakland for this day! While I am based in Oregon, I love to travel and would be stoked to come back. I ended up staying nearby in San Francisco. Which was fun, but in hindsight I wouldn’t recommend for such a short trip (I just flew in the day before and after) haha.
Meg and Devin are sweethearts and this day was so fun.
Someone hire me to come back!! 😉
