You’d be surprised how many couples come to me with this dilemma about their Oregon Elopement Videography plans: do we book digital, super8, or both!? Well, have no fear, I’m here to explain the differences and provide you with examples to help you make your decision.
For today’s discussion, we’ll be using Abigaelle & Torre’s Northern Oregon Coast Elopement Videography package as an example! Abi and Torre booked Sabrina Fitz Photo & Film (back when it was named Lilli Productions!) to capture both photo and video for their elopement in the Cannon Beach, Oregon area.
As many of my couples desire, these two really wanted to focus on the experience of their wedding day. They wanted an intentional, calm, and personal day that felt unique to them. What better to encapsulate this down-to-earth vibe that with a super8 wedding film!? I just KNEW we had to add super8 to their elopement package.
PS: The above film is just their teaser 😉 their full elopement film is just over 25 minutes long! Check it out here: https://youtu.be/PRdHttM3b68
As you watch the first video, you’ll see that the majority of the film is shot in gorgeous 4K video. I also weaved clips from the super8 film into the highlight film. This brings a fun balance of both!
You’ll also notice one of the major difference between digital and super8 is sound. Digital videography includes sound, such as your personal vows weaved throughout or natural scratch audio. Super8 does not capture audio, so your super8 video would just be set to music!
Okay, let’s not beat around the bush anymore. Which one do you pick!?
Decided you don’t like super8 at all? Well, that’s okay too… here’s an example of a film without any super8/analog footage incorporated.
Can’t get enough of my elopement films!? I don’t blame you! 😉 You can check out more of my video work on my Video Portfolio page. Really want to watch more super8 films? I gotchu. Head to my Analog Portfolio instead!
Thanks for spending the time to check out this blog post. Stay a while longer!
xoxo,
