Portland Engagement Photos: Dylan & Luc in Washington Park

I’m so excited to share these Portland Engagement Photos with you all today! Dylan and I met at barre3, since we are both fitness instructors there. (Yeah, you heard me right! If you’ve never heard of barre3 and are looking for an amazing workout, check out barre3.)

Anyway, when Dylan and Luc got engaged I was just crossing all my fingers and toes that they’d choose me as their Portland, Oregon Engagement Photographer and… THEY DID!

After a few rainy-day reschedules, we met up on a sunny fall morning to capture their love on digital and 35mm film.

First Stop: It’s Fall Ya’ll

October & November are the perfect months to capture some of that autumn magic in Portland, Oregon. So of course, our first mission was to get some pretty fall colors!

We warmed up for the session by doing lots of movement: walking, piggy back rides, and smooches!

Every time I come to Hoyt Arboretum I just can’t believe this place exists so close to downtown Portland, Oregon! You get a taste of everything: forested trails, magical ferns, and redwood trees! I just love it so much.

Dylan and Luc were just the sweetest couple ever. They were so nervous to get their photos professionally taken for the first time, but I assured them it would (and should) basically feel like a date with a third wheel!

Some of my tips for a laid-back engagement photo session are to BREATH big and lots, to focus more on each other than the silly goose with the camera (me) and to wear clothes that you feel confident in. (I also suggest wearing neutral colors, so you two can shine!)
